LIT6015   Theatre Practice II   (30 credits)

Year Running: 2019/2020
Credit level: F7

Description

This studio based module centres on the practical exploration of ideas and material arising from Theatre and Society I. Students will participate in the preparation and presentation of two projects. The first is staff-led; examples include: rehearsing and performing a text; devising an original documentary drama; juxtaposing conflicting texts on stage; testing theories by devising an appropriate product. The second is student-initiated, and will involve creating a performance which builds on or interrogates ideas explored in Theatre and Society I and/or in the staff-led project. In both cases, students are assessed on their contribution to and understanding of the work created.
